Cute pics

Just thought I would share these cute pics of our girls. :)

Fall is here!

We had our first big outing as a family of four this weekend to Old Baker Farm pumpkin patch. Campbell slept through the whole thing strapped to my chest, but Savannah had a blast.

We're all doing good around here. Campbell is up to 8 lb 1 oz and after some formula adjustments is spitting up less and sleeping well. Most nights I am getting at least 4 hour chunks of sleep. Sunday night she slept from 11 to 6! Savannah continues to LOVE her baby sister. She checks on her all the time and says "I hold baby", "hold baby's hand", "uh-oh, baby spit up", "mommy, baby open eyes" and several other cute things. When she wants me to do something with her she says "mommy, put baby seat" and points to the car seat or swing. It seems we have been blessed with a laid back child in Campbell, so handling two, while not easy, has not been impossible so far!

A little surprise...

I know I just promised to update the blog and then a week goes by with nothing, but we had a little surprise around here that has kept us pretty busy. Campbell decided to arrive 4 weeks early! For those of you who have not heard the story, I went in for my 36 week appointment on Wednesday afternoon to discover I was 5 cm dilated. They didn't even let me come home - sent me straight to labor and delivery. We had to stop Joe's murder trial and everything. :) She was born at 8:11 am on August 28th weighing 6 lbs and 18 1/2 inches long. Again - I'll post more later - but here are a couple of pictures for now...

After a long break...

I promise to start updating this again! There just was never enough time to sit at the computer while I was home with Savannah this summer. I have tons of pictures to post - I'll get them up here in the next few days. Campbell's room is done, we have 4D ultrasound pics of her, there are pictures from Savannah's birthday party and her two year old portraits to catch up on! Only 4 weeks to go until my due date!!!

Campbell's Room

Thanks to lots of help from my mom, dad and brother, we have made lots of changes around our house. We now have a playroom instead of an extra bedroom off of the kitchen and Savannah loves it. We also moved furniture around to clear out room for Campbell, painted, and picked up the crib and dresser we will be using (thanks Julie!) Here are some pictures. Over the next few weeks we're going to be shopping for a chair, looking for things for the walls and Joe's mom is going to make curtains. I'll update as we make more changes.

Bubbles and sidewalk chalk...

these are two of Savannah's new favorite things. I have to hide them because if she seems them she MUST play with them! We spent a lot of time outside on the back patio over the long weekend. :)

This week we're painting and getting a new nursery ready for Campbell's arrival in September. I'll post pictures as we make progress.

Do Dah Day

For those of you not from Birmingham, Do Dah Day is an annual festival/fundraiser for the Humane Society celebrating pets. Our friends Adrian and Ryan have the good fortune to live within a couple of blocks of the festival and they are nice enough to host a brunch beforehand every year. We all had lot's of fun and Savannah said "puppy!" at least 500 times throughout the day. Madison and Stoli did come with us, although after the fact we decided that two dogs, a toddler and a pregnant woman was a lot to handle and two dogs, a toddler and a baby might just push us over the edge, so the dogs may miss the fun next year. :(

Savannah at School

Savannah goes to a children's day out program two days a week at a local church. For mother's day they sent home packets of pictures of her and the other kids playing. Here are some of the best pictures. Enjoy!

Growing up fast!

Despite a weekend of being kind of sick and incredibly whiney and grumpy, Savannah continues to amaze us with all of the new things she says. We count the steps every time we walk up them, so she knows how to count to 12 (although she sometimes leaves out one and ten and "six seven" sounds like one number) but yesterday I was holding her hands so she could jump off of the back of the car. I told her to count and she said "one, two, three" and jumped with NO prompting! Also, at one point this weekend she crouched down, said "ready, set, go" and starting running around! We really never know what is going to come out of her mouth next!

It's a

GIRL! I am shocked...I was convinced it was a boy! We are thrilled that Savannah will have a little sister. Her name will be Campbell Anne Basgier. Campbell is my mother's maiden name and Anne is Joe's grandmother's middle name.

Here are some pictures...

Today is the day!

I'll post a gender announcement and new ultrasound pictures this evening!!!!! We should be home by 5:00.

Savannah has been sick since Saturday night with a fever and the occasional (and unexpected) throwing up. She is fine during the day but the fever pops up in the evenings and that seems to upset her stomach. Hopefully we'll be on the mend soon! We can't catch up on laundry for all of the...ummm..."priority" laundry. :)

Quote of the week: "I didn't expect having a child to involve so much throw up."

Ou-side

Savannah loves to go "ou-side" and asks to go all the time. The weather was great this weekend so we spent lots of time at the park and in the yard. Sunday we took the dogs to a field to throw the frisbee and let Savannah run around. She was so cute walking around holding Stoli's (she calls her sto sto) leash. I WISH I had taken my camera.

No new pictures to post, so I'll post our 13 week ultrasound picture. It'll be fun to compare with the new one we'll get next week. Stay tuned for a gender announcement next Thursday afternoon!

Digital Storybook

I am at a professional development workshop today and I am learning how to use Microsoft Photo Story software. I decided to share my digital storybook - Watch Me Grow. (No, this is not about how pregnant I look.) The pictures that look professional are. They are the work of Anita Maniscalco - our favorite photographer!

Easter

We did a thorough job of celebrating Easter this year, with two Easter lunches and THREE Easter egg hunts. Happily, Savannah was an Easter egg hunting pro.

We're finally joining the 21st Century...

and starting a blog. I've gotten some complaints that we didn't have one, so here we go. Hope you all enjoy. I'll try to find the time to post at least once a week. What else does a pregnant working wife and mom of a 20 month old have to do with her time, anyway?
