My Crafty Snow Days

So with our FOUR snow days I had to find something to do!  Campbell's room got my attention and she now has some fun, homemade decor for her walls plus a "baby doll" corner.  Campbell can play with her babies for hours!  After a trip to Hobby Lobby here are the results of my fun!

Today's Groupon and SNOW!

We are stocked up and ready for some SNOW here, complete with plenty of food and an evacuation plan to my parents house (with generator) if we lose power.  I fought the urge to panic shop and only bought some staples that I would have bought anyway and never have coupons for (milk and fruit).

In other news, check out the Las Vegas Groupon side deal today.  You can use the link on the left of the screen to get there.  It is $10 for a $20 order at EverydaySource.com.  The $20 includes shipping and they sell electronics accessories AND printer ink.  I suspect we'll be using this for cell phone accessories since Joe just used his upgrade at Verizon for a Blackberry Curve, but cheap Ink is always a good thing when you print lots of coupons!

After church I am headed to CVS before the snow comes.  This is a GREAT week at CVS.  Check out http://www.iheartcvs.com/ for the deals.  I am going for Nature Valley Granola Bars, Lysol Wipes and Finish Dishwasher tablets.  Should cost about $3 out of pocket.  :)

Coupons, coupons and more coupons!

I am ready to start 2011 with a bang!  The Extreme Couponers show on TLC over the holidays aired at the perfect time.  I watched and did not think they were crazy.  I was inspired to start a new year saving money.  :)

If you are just starting, make sure you get the Sunday paper every week.  Keep the inserts from the paper whole (don't cut the coupons out!) and put them in a binder.  I use sheet protectors to divide mine by date.  Then start following southernsavers.com, couponingtodisney.com, iheartcvs.com and iheartpublix.com to start saving money!  They do all of the hard work for us.

I will be teaching another couponing workshop in February.  It will either be at the Botanical Gardens or the American Federation of Teacher's office in Homewood.  While the class is sponsored by AFT, you do not have to be a member, or even teacher, to come!  I'll let you know when a date is set.

I am going to try really hard to keep up with my receipts and track my savings this year.  So far I have had a great Publix trip and I picked up my weekly free bag of stuff from CVS.  :)  What have you done?

Goodbye 2010!

What a great year we had in 2010.  Joe and I ended the year by going to the Hats and Horns party at B&A Warehouse (I only mention this because we are on the front page of the Faces section of the Birmingham News today.  :)), but our Christmas was so memorable also!  Here's a quick summary in pictures:
